I have only had the tune in for a few days, so I can't reliably speak to mileage improvements, but I am very happy with the performance improvements so far: 1) The 1-1.5 second dead pedal effect when accelerating has been eliminated. There is a little turbo spool up effect when starting from a dead stop which is unavoidable, but this is very minor when compared to the factory tuning. 2) There is clearly more torque (power) at lower RPMs which cannot help but improve mileage and decrease engine wear. 3) There is clearly more peak power available for full throttle acceleration. After running the GDE engine tune without the transmission tune, I then added the transmission tune. The transmission tune takes advantage of the higher torque provided by the engine tune by up shifting and locking up sooner and staying locked up or in a higher gear longer. The transmission tune also automatically optimizes fuel economy at lower throttle inputs, but adapts to optimize power at higher throttle inputs. This is a great feature. Add to this the stellar email support I received from GDE, and I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

I bought the tune a little over a month ago and I have nothing but good things to say about GDE and their tune. Since the install I have been getting a steady 32 AVG MPG, granted there is not much elevation where I live but that is a significant increase from 28.5 AVG MPG. The pedal response is so much better, no more 1 to 1.5s annoying delay. No more having to purchase Diesel Exhaust Fluid which was a nuisance. Overall the GDE tune is makes the engine run better in general, the way it should have out of the box.

I have had the Green Diesel hot tune in my '17 Canyon for about 750 miles now, and am impressed so far. It feels like the stock engine with the volume turned up. More low end beef for sure, very nice in the 1,800 to 2,500 typical driving zone RPM, more torque and less pedal needed to accelerate normally and hold speed. The 3-5 mpg improvement claim seems legit, getting really good fuel economy even though we are in the cold months, which hinder economy. Interesting and I don't think it is my imagination, the engine sounds slightly different. Not louder, just different - to my gear head brain it sounds like the combustion is crisper and better - it just sounds correct. It is a subtle thing, but I sense it. The tune does not hit you over the head, it just works like enhanced factory settings, which is excellent. It sounds quieter and smoother at idle too. It used to grumble some at 1,400 rpm under a light load while cruising, now it just purrs and smoothly makes usable power at that engine speed. It almost sounds like it has an airbox kit on it, there definitely is a not at all loud or obnoxious but still cool low intake moan under moderate throttle that was not there before. All in all very pleased and recommend to anyone with a 2.8. It is now running how it was meant to run - perfect!

Well, after having my Hot Tune loaded for 2 days I have run over 1500 kms with it and all is have to say is WOW! THIS is is the truck it was meant to be!! I have no idea how anyone who puts serious miles on their truck can live without this tune. No more near-misses when hitting the go-pedal to get out of a tight situation or changing lanes in heavy traffic. The tune changes your truck from feeling like a Prius to feel like a real diesel truck! - Mileage continues to improve with every 50 kms or so - idle is MUCH smoother - 1.5 second pause before trucks reacts to accelerator is GONE! - acceleration is smooth and gears shift very nicely. - the engine seems to run tighter and more efficiently. If you are on the fence over flashing this tune you will have NO regrets doing it! The only negative I have experienced so far is valve chatter when starting up a hill in 6th (1500 RPM) and it doesn't gear down soon enough since it thinks it is so much tougher now. No chatter noticeable when further into the power band hitting hills (2000 RPM). Maybe this is something that will be fine tuned in a future update? I would recommend this tune to anyone with a Colorado or Canyon!

Immediately after installing the most notable difference was how much better the throttle response was! No more 1 second delay between pushing the pedal and accelerating. The truck finally acts the way it should from the factory. The extra power and torque is noticeable throughout the entire RPM range as well. Passing isn't a worry now! MPG showed improvement as well, even with the first trip through windy, cold weather. I'd recommend this tune to anyone with a diesel Canyon or Colorado. It was worth the wait!

As advertised. Turbo and pedal response much improved. Great company to work with. Responded to all my inquiries in a timely manner and highly recommend. Improved overall driveability, well worth the investment
