We now have a Green Diesel specific flash/scan tool available for purchase that allows customers to download tunes and revert back to stock as needed. The flash/scan will also read and clear fault codes.

Below are a couple pictures of the unit:

The link below provides installation instructions, please be aware a PC is required for the software to function.

The unit is the same price regardless if you are a current customer or not. As a current customer, you would not have to pay for the tune portion and we will work with you to load the tune you are currently running...there is some time involved to create the tune as it must be tailored for each individual customer using the flash tool. This part is going to get time consuming creating a specific tune for each customer.

Let's say you have the flash tool and bought the ECO Tune to go with it. If you want the HOT tune loaded on the programmer as well, this will be an extra charge of $150. This price will hold for each specific additional tune requested for the flash tool.

THe flash tool is also a code reader for the CRD..... IS it also able to read codes on other vehicles that we own now or may own in the future? If it can than it may be well worth it to keep around.

Hi guys,
Does the flash tool work for the TCM flash as well?

Cheers
Rossow.

The flash tool will not work with the trans tune as the protocol is different. The trans tune is best suited for a TCM exchange to keep the CRD on the road except when swapping out the controller.

I used it, and thought you needed a notebook connected to it at all times? Took a little while to figure that out, and I am not too big on calling for tech support.

I origilaly asked this and never got any answer but found this list on my own..... so if you have or have family that owns a vehicle on this list it may work with it if this is correct info and be more worth keeping.

The flash tool is easy to use, but please note that the USB driver will NOT load on the 64 bit version of Windows 7 it only installs on the 32 bit version.

As of 24 Sep 2010, we received a fix from Alientech that now allows the flash tool to link and communicate with Windows 7. Please email us if running Windows 7, the fix must be installed prior to running the software the first time.

If one buys the flash tool do you have to pay for the individual tunes, what are the costs of the individual tunes, can one just get a tune to turn off the egr?

on a side note, the crd never came with a stick shift in it in the states, you guys should work on a manual transmission convention

The flash tool is $300 and the engine tunes are $450. Our tunes already fix the EGR issue and do much more to improve drivability and fuel economy. We looked into a manual conversion, but at the very low volumes it is not a worthwhile venture due to the design cost of a single mass flywheel and unique adapter plate.
