Any updates on the progress of your tuning? Dyno runs or anything yet?

The baseline fuel economy tuning is coming along well. We are planning a hot test in Arizona this summer and altitude/towing trip as well. Once the confirmatory testing is complete we expect to have engine and transmission tuning ready for the market in October time frame. We may have a few options in the transmission tuning depending on customer needs and drive cycles. The engine tuning will have an ECO version and a HOT version. We are completing the development with the HOT tune as it will cover the ECO version.

Have your worked out what the pricing will be? Will I have to buy any hardware to install it? Or will it just be a downloaded file?

Good question. We are using EFI Live and HP Tuners to flash the Colorado. I think both companies have handheld units for reasonable prices to install the GDE tune. If someone already has an EFI live system, the cost is the tune and a license fee to flash modules. We are still looking at alternative solutions for this to keep the cost down. Our goal is the offer tuning in the same price range as the other vehicle lines we are currently tuning, so 695-800 range, with the flash tool included.

Any updates to offer? Progress? Dyno runs? Maybe some early fuel economy or regen improvement guesses?

Please keep me posted and on your list for a Colorado 2.8 diesel ECO tune. I am mostly after excellent fuel mileage and if the auto trans can have it's main pressure raised, shift quality firmed up, and elimination of "hunting" between gears with a tune, this would be a wonderful additional flash !! ???? Thank you !!

No doubt! I am actually OK if they give themselves most of a year though. Although just a good hard summer testing is probably close enough as long as they keep logging hours this winter and maybe second summer and offer an update if next summer ends up hotter! Not sure about the rest of the country...but here in TX we had a very mild summer was Awesome, but woulda been a bad example of a year for good summer tests. The it's available right away aspect of some of the other tuners is what made me leery. Stock tunes are based on a myriad of environments the vehicles are tested in along with a myriad of builds.

Anyhow...no rush....but some sorta updates on progress would be awesome...just so we know how it's going!

X2 for the MPG and some more power for towing. but leave transmission alone its working just fine.... its not like my Jeep CRD that one was garbage. I even had the GDE trans tune in the jeep and was still left dissatisfied.
the only things i'd like to see would be reduced DEF usage, Re-gen notification on the DIC if possible.

Any updates on a release or what kind of power/MPG the tune has been getting?

Well, with the holidays fast approaching I am creating a wish list... and as it turns out GDE tune for my Canyon is in the top 10!?!

I have just about 10k miles in about 4 months of ownership and really love the versatility of this truck/engine combination. If this "base" engine hadn't been around for so long I would just leave it alone as it fulfills my daily driver/toy hauler/toss it in the bed needs.

What I am looking for:
1) Reduction in turbo lag - driving style must adapt to this lag, once you get in the boost range acceleration is moderate but always consistent(acceleration feels about the same with or without my 23' trailer and sleds)
2) Fuel econ - My best average thus far 36.8 mpg in the flat lands of Ohio. Although the stock numbers are superb, from my research on previous versions of this engine I know there is more in there.
3) Ok, because this is a wish list and I know some is hidden within this engine who cant do with a little more power. I don't want to sacrifice durability or fuel econ but everyone seems to love other tunes out there with +20 hp or so...
4) Become one of the many satisfied customers of GDE that I hear so much about...

Enjoy the holidays and keep posting for updates, I know they are watching ;P

Any updates yet?
I was wondering if its possible to change the amount of time the truck will idle with the remote start?
I was thinking instead of 10 min maybe 15+
