Hi there,

Has anyone experienced any problems with the "eco-tune". More specifically, with cold starts (sub zero) and other mechanical faults or codes appearing.
on long trips etc.

Thanks in advance

Nope, started reliably under all conditions in the 3 years I've had it.

I have some issues with cold starting at -20 celcius and lower. most of the time it helps to switch on the key contact 3, 4 or 5 times. every time the glow system is activated.

In my opinion the glow time is way too short, I have send an email to Keith with the question if the glow time can be doubled or tripled but no response yet (holiday time I guess).

I am looking to add a button to keep the glowplugs on for longer manually before starting but finding the right cirquit is not easy...

The glow plugs are still actuated after the light turns off. They go into a quick heat up mode at key-on for up to 2 seconds, then transfer to a maintenance PWM duty cycle to hold the temp during cranking. I think it is a mix of poor calibration from Bosch on the glow strategy and a marginal design for glow plug placement and protrusion in the combustion chamber.
