I'm pretty interested in getting this tune for my Jeep, it's an 08 WK with the DPF, this is the first winter I've been through with my CRD, and I do find warm up time to be quite long in -20 to -40 weather.
First and foremost if I get the eco, or hot tune will this increase warm up times due to the EGR, and swirl motor being disabled? My concern is carboning the engine/injectors.
Secondly, I'm pretty good with taking car of my stuff, how will this affect transmission wear? I plan to change the oil in the pan every 30,000kms, and filter every second change, I've heard the merc W5J400 trannys are pretty tough, but would like to know how much they can tolerate.

Thanks.

Even with stock WK tune, the egr is not on until coolant temps reach 20 C. The warm-up is not affected much with the GDE tune, maybe adding a minute. There is less soot with our tunes so less chance of carbon accumulation. The hot tune has been in the field for over 4 years now and the transmission A580 seems to hold up very well. I would just follow the standard maintenance intervals.
