The presentation linked below discusses the effects of removing the stock exhaust system in terms of performance. We do not advocate removing the exhaust system for obvious reasons, but there are folks that still will want to do this. In our opinion (backed up by lots of data and testing), the exhaust system is not the limiting factor on the Ram application, rather it is the turbocharger. On the plus side, the truck does sound better with exhaust removed, it just does not buy you much of anything for performance.

If I wanted to do a exhaust delete basically just for the sound. Is that something you can program for? What codes or messages would I be dealing with if I did do this?

If you're wanting to do the delete tune for whatever is the reason, just select our "off-road tuning" option for the Hot Tune. This will disable all the codes related with the exhaust aftertreatment system, at which point you can delete in whatever means you want.

Biodiesel

The reason for me would be biodiesel. Since DPFs have caused the biodiesel market to crash, waste vegetable oil is far easier to get and I can make my own biodiesel for about 30% of #2 diesel.

So, as I understand it (diesel newbie), I could run B100 in the Ram but for the DPF, right? If I delete and tune to eliminate the regen, oil dilution should not happen. Right?

Old thread, I know, but I can’t actually find anything about this....

So, DPF delete + GDE off road tune = B100 compatible?

With a dpf delete, yes biofuel is feasible up to B100. Just make sure the bio is clean as contaminants will waste a fuel system in short order.
