CRD owners of the world UNITE! Wait no longer to purchase the tune. I have a 2005 with 128,000 miles on it. Round trip to work and home is 110 daily. I faithfully set the cruise at 72 on the highway and was averaging 27 mph pre-tune. Now I'm getting around 34 mpg. I'm not a supported of any specific diesel fuel, as I go by several major truck stops, but my CRD really likes Shell diesel.

I told my daughter about me getting the tune and when she was home from college, I let her run some errands. She came back with the biggest grin saying "You should have never told me about the tune. That's fun to drive!" And it is. The diesel runs smoother, quieter, and when I need the power it IS there.

I really don't know what more to say. I am not a big gear head (sorry to the engineers) so I cannot give you the technical details of why it does what it does, but I'm sure Keith can. With the MPG's and a cleaner burning vehicle, this is what the car manufacturers need to have been doing. I am not sorry I did it. I tell everyone I can about the tune and praise diesels every chance I get. I'm here in Michigan between Lansing and Jackson. If you want to see it or drive it, let me know.

Now, Keith, what can you do for my 94 F250 7.3 turbo????

Good to see that you are over 120K on your ride ! Have you already done the timing belt replacement? Just picked up a CRD this summer and the guys tuned it 2 days later. I like it more every day it seems.

Although with the few miles on mine - it can hardly be considered broken in yet.

liberty, I'm right behind you....or ahead of you. I have 130,000 on mine and ordered the Ecotune yesterday. My wife went along with it because of the increased mpg. I forgot to mention the added HP.

I have not done the timing belt yet. I am wating for Keith and his guru's to post their pics and write up on how to make the change. He mentioned in an e-mail to me that they have plans on posting it. I'll try and tackle it myself. There are not too many places around that are really good with our VM motors.

O.K. So here's the scoop. I traveled from home in Onondaga to Howell then to Mt. Clemens and back on Tuesday and Wednesday. 95% of that was on 127, 96, 696 and 94. Speed was between 70 - 75 and the EVIC showed 36.4 MPG. I didn't do any hand calculation, but the more I drive the better this tune seems to be. Let's keep our fingers crossed. If anyone can help with information on the timing belt change it would be appreciated. Also, a good honest mechanic for the VM engine.
