All,

So I had my dealer replace my TC and pump w/ the newer Mopar parts yesterday. My work order says, "Replace TC, pump, and filters. Reflash if needed". I have an '05 CRD that has been through F37.

Is there an easy way for me to tell if it's been reflashed? And if it has, can I send it back to you and for a nominal fee (to cover your time and shipping) have it flashed back to the GDE tune?

I believe that only your TCM (Transmission Control Module) would have possibly been "reflashed". I do not think that it would affect your ECM (Engine Control Module). How does it drive? How is the mileage after the new parts?

The easiest way to tell if the tune is still installed is during the first cold start of the day. We added an engine flare right after engine start so it should rev above 1000 rpm and slowly drop back down over 15-25 seconds, this is more pronounced the colder it gets.
If you need to tune re-installed we will do it for the shipping costs, which range from about $10 to $30 depending on how fast the turn around needs to be.

Hmm. I don't noticed this rpm jump (but it isn't that cold here in NorCal). I'd like to go ahead and send it in as I've plugged my MAF back in and the idea that my EGR may be functioning again terrifies me

I'm planning to overnight it on Monday and will include a check for $50 to cover return overnight shipping and a 12-pack.

We will keep you posted when we receive the module, we'll also let you know whether or not the ECU was actually reflashed or not.

Received the ECM, installed, and it's running just fine. Thanks for the quick turnaround.

But it's a good thing I dug through the box you sent, you forgot to take the check I wrote for the shipping and beer!

I'll mail it to 'ya.

Chris,

Thanks for sending the check back. We were in such a rush to get your ECU back...must have overlooked the whole payment thing!

I got the ECO tune back in June. My CRD does not jump to 1000 rpm when I start it, it goes directly to ~750. Do I need to get my tune updated?

In this war of lines, so many have been crossed. Where will it all stop?

It will only jump the first cold start of the day. When the engine is warm, there is no jump. Did you have a recent trip to the dealer?

No, I stay as far away from the dealer as possible.

I got the tune when you did your "special" initial offering, back in June. Did that tune have it?

I'm thinking about sending it to you for an update anyway, to correct the fuel gauge.

I had to have another key programmed at the dealer. Could they have effected the tune at all, or would that strictly be limited to the BCM?

The BCM is a separate module and will not effect the tune.
