The Dakota with the VM diesel was sold in South America was back around 1999-2001 timeframe, but this was with the old tech indirect injection diesel and did not have much get up an go. Most all the auxilliary parts/hardware on that application would not work with the newer style engine.


that R5 dak is what made me go and see what kind of work it would take
give me 180hp and 340ft lb and a 5/6 speed and 22/28 mpg and i ll be set


i am most worried about the wiring and lights /gauges i have found a 04 dak that i think will make a great swap would the glow plug light be maybe used off the R5 or liberty
do you think that the 04 dak and the 05/06 crd will have semi close wireing im ont sure what dash programming the dak uses
then i have ot wander how i ll get the dash stuff worked out (the swap will be in a dakota pickup)
might be able to get some parts for the export only 2.5 VM that was made
most gauges woudl be fine but the stuff to deal with the plug temp an ready to start lights might be tricky
so you are telling me that if i could order the euro parts or OZ for that matter (clutch flywheel and adapterplate ) and have them shipped in that it still would not work
i know i would also need the 6 speed ECU right

they woudl be stock parts over there jsut have to have a "friend" ship them stateside
