We will get a GM section on this forum in a couple weeks. The last dyno runs were about 40hp and 60 ftlb of torque over factory per my memory.
We are waiting on the exhaust downpipes. Should be ready around 5 Oct.
If you are located close, we can tune it in house. We are still working on the delivery tool for this application and running into a few stumbling blocks.
It should still pass fine.

We hope to have 4 more kits made up by 15 September.
HerkDoctor wrote:Been tuned since March '17. I recently had to shut the motor off during regen because it popped up a mile and half from work. The fans didn't run at all. I hung around the truck for a few remembering the fans were supposed to keep running but nada. Is there a temp threshold or is it as simple as just being in regen?

There is a temp threshold for the fans.
Yes it will read/clear engine fault codes. The tool only works with Windows based pc, not functional on a MAC, unless you have a windows shell on it.
GDE can make a custom tune to handle most any aftermarket option. Give us a call for specifics.
There are 4 EGT sensors in the exhaust, so we would need to know which one you are monitoring. Peak sustained EGT is 1550 F. It may spike above that during a transient maneuver, but will settle back in 15-30 seconds.
Call or email us your name or VIN so we can check.

No, it will not work correctly without a tune.

It seems that nothing is being said on your end about the time frame as of late. I can understand testing your product but you can't tell me with all the data you have on the Liberty 2.8 that something would not be ready after almost a year and a half. If it's a deal where your needing more market people to make the release more affordable and appealing for you then I would say this tune may never make the market. This is a new diesel I understand that but you can't wait for the market to catch up with you. In other words be honest with people up front about whether there is actually going to be a release or not. Thanks for your time

We are going on our altitude validation trip in CO late August and hot weather trailer tow testing in AZ. After that the tune will be finalized and ready for release in September. Past data on the Liberty is useless on the Colorado as the ecm is different and the hardware is different. We take our time and get it right. We are also working on the larger Dmax congruently, so that slows us down a bit.

Is the flash tool for delivery decided on yet?

Same tool we use on several of the other diesel vehicles we tune. It works on the 2016 no problem, we need to test it on the 2017 due to GM making some communication changes on the OBD port.
Teddy wrote:Sorry for being a noob, but I had a couple questions about the ECU tune.

Does this tune allow me to remove the DPF?

It says it disables the swirl motor, does that mean I don't need to do the resistor mod?

Thank you!

No need for the swirl resistor with the GDE tune. The base tune is designed for factory exhaust systems. Call if you need something special.

The EGR and swirl are both turned off, so no more soot entering the intake. The oil is from the CCV system, nothing a tune can to for that. However, if you stop the soot, then the oil passes through harmlessly. Custom requests have turned into tune options over the last couple years.
