Just got the hot tune and am enjoying getting used to the new character of this jeep.
I don't yet have enough miles to say where fuel economy will be but am optomistic.
Had a chance today to try the newfound power out and did a WOT take off from about
five mph rolling start and it actually broke the tires loose a little , shifted to second
very soon and then hit the rev limiter and cut power before it would shift to third. Has this
happened to others and will the transmission learn to shift sooner with the quicker
revving engine?
Our transmissions have a direct drive 1:1 third gear which is enabled by turning off overdrive with the button on the shifter.
They have two overdrive gears (4th and 5th) and there isn't a way to manually select the 4th gear. The extra power at
highway speeds that that gear would provide would be nice for those who tow.
Would also like to be able to select and hold 4th gear to higher than 57mph for more power towing and less lugging.
I see that the stock power levels listed are for a non f-37'ed jeep. Do you have any dyno readings from a jeep that has had the f-37 detune? Just wondering how much was taken away and also would make any of your tunes that much more noticeable due to a greater gain from the existing factory detune.
My new mopar convertor is on its way and was going to send my ecm in for the hot tune while I have the Jeep apart. Would it be wise to wait for the updates you are contemplating? BTW the best price I could find for the convertor part #68037142aa was 285 at moparonlineparts.com
