Reading this has given me the push to try this out this winter... I'll remove the fan as well and see if this makes a difference. Winter fuel is already being distributed up here (Ottawa-Gatineau region) and my MPG is not faring as well already...

Any chance you might look into having a group buy thrown your way? There's a growing number of people interested so let us know if this can be done...

Mr. GDE,

I'm in the latest group buy and just need to confirm something before I go ahead and ship you my spare ECU:

Luckily, in addition of the spare ECU I will dedicate for tune purpose, I was able to get my hands on a pre-F37 TCM as well. Since I already experience a slight shudder from the OEM TC that will only get worse over time.

If I were to get the Euro TC, combining it with the pre-F37 TCM, can I go for the Hot tune? Should I expect adverse effects with this high-torque combo?

Thanks for your consideration in this matter (and for taking the time, as always )!
Mr. GDE,

Can you tell me if there would be any issue programming a 56044776AD - base release ECU for my '06 CRD?

Reason for asking is I could be able to get my hand on such ECU but found, through research, the following:

56044776AD - base release
56044776AE - improved start ability
56044776AF - lower torque output to protect TC
56044776BA - lower power to glow plugs to reduce potential for overheating
56044776BB - change to FCV to reduce potential of failures

For the owners of '06 CRDs we would highly recommend verifying you are running with an ECU part number suffix of BA or BB

Does the GDE tune automatically update a base release?
